Have you heard of the slogan “The Heartbeat of America”, or “Like a Rock”, if you have ever listened to the radio or watched television I bet you have?

They are the slogans and ads for Chevrolet.Chevrolet was invented long ago by two made that have made history from the beginning. The two men, who invented Chevrolet had caused quite a stir in  the newly emerging automobile company.

In 1911 William Durant started the Chevrolet Motor Company. General Motors let him go in 1910, they weren’t happy with him. At this point in 1911, he entered into a partnership with Louis Chevrolet and this is how Chevrolet Motors started.

Louis Chevrolet was short lived in his time as partners but as a race car driver he brought new and creative ideas to the drawing board on how to build new and exciting cars.  He had his own machine shop in Detroit were he had designed a six-cylinder engine with an overhead valve. Durant and Chevrolet started to disagree, Chevrolet was designing cars that only the wealthy could afford and Durant wanted to design and sell cars that everyone could afford. This became too much for Chevrolet and a few short years later in 1915 Chevrolet sold his shares to Durant.

William went on to incorporate Chevrolet Motor Company into General Motors, making it one of the most successful auto companies in history.

You will see many brands, styles, sizes and Chevy’s.  Chevrolet has been around for many years and continues to invent cars for tomorrow.

On a warm summers day you can easily spot some of the old classic Chevy’s on the road.  Remember that bright red convertible corvette when it came out, or the 55 Chevy Bel-airs, still a classic symbol of the American dream. How about the first GMC pick up truck you owned?

Once you buy a Chevrolet, there is a good chance you will buy another. You can still buy antique Chevy’s every day just pick up the local car magazine and see all the antique Chevy’s you can buy.
